Undergraduates Department of Mathematics and Statistics

Options in Mathematics and Statistics for Second Year

At second year level, students start to do major studies in one or two specific disciplines. You can do mathematics and statistics either as an area of major studies, or to complement other areas of major studies.

Please use the menu on the right to help plan your mathematics and statistics subjects.

Below is a list of third year heritage subjects offered by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Many of these subjects will run for the last time in either 2008 or 2009. Thus students intending to do 200-level mathematics and statistics subjects after 2008 will need to take into account transition arrangements for mathematics and statistics subjects.

Please see a member of staff in the Mathematics and Statistics Department if you need to discuss your future options.

Please refer to the Undergraduate Handbook for more complete information about subjects. More detailed information for currently enrolled students is available on our subject web pages.
