Mathematics and Statistics for Mathematics Education
Students who plan to be teachers may choose mathematics or mathematical statistics, either as their Master of Teaching major study or their Master of Teaching sub major study. The following advice is for those who plan mathematics or mathematical statistics as their Master of Teaching sub major study. Please refer to the Master of Teaching website for more information.
- For entry to a Master of Teaching major study, students would usually have completed a major in mathematics and statistics through a BSc, although students who have completed two second year and two third year subjects in mathematics and statistics would also qualify for a Master of Teaching major study in mathematics and statistics.
- For entry to a Master of Teaching sub major study, students must have completed a minimum of 2 subjects at first year level plus 2 subjects at second year level. Some suitable subject combinations for a sub major study include:
