Undergraduates Department of Mathematics and Statistics

Mathematics and Statistics to Enhance Engineering Systems

Students pursuing an Engineering Systems major may complete just a minimum number of mathematics and statistics subjects plus Engineering Mathematics (a second year subject).

Students with a Special Interest in Mathematics and Statistics

Students planning to do a Master of Engineering who have a special interest in Mathematics and Statistics have two options
• Students may major in Mathematics and Statistics either through the Bachelor of Science or by enrolling in the Diploma in Mathematical Sciences. In the former case, students will be required to undertake extra subjects in the Master of Engineering.
• Students may choose to do a major in Engineering Systems plus do complementary Mathematics and
Statistics subjects.
