Mathematics and Statistics to Enhance Engineering Systems

Students planning to do a Masters of Engineering may choose to do mathematics and statistics subjects beyond those specified in their major (Option 1) or just do the bare minimum of mathematics and statistics (Option 2).

Option 1

Option 1 keeps open the choice between a Mathematics and Statistics major and an Engineering Systems major until the end of second year. The subjects listed in second year replace engineering mathematics subjects, while Accelerated Mathematics 1(or Mathematics 1 in 2008) and 2 replace the first year engineering recommendations.

* Linear Algebra may be done in the Summer Semester of second year.
** Students who decide to major in Mathematics and Statistics with Engineering Systems as a complementary study will not do this subject. Please refer to Majors in Mathematics and Statistics for more details.
