Options for First Year - Bachelor of Commerce

Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce may take up to two Mathematics and Statistics subjects in first year to fulfill the requirement for breadth. Please refer to the Bachelor of Commerce website for further details about your choices. These subjects may be chosen from the university mathematics and statistics breadth subjects or from our mainstream subjects. Special requirements for Actuarial Studies and Master of Engineering are given below. Some common choices for students are:

Prospective Master of Engineering

Students intending to enrol in a Master of Engineering are required to do both their first year breadth subjects in Mathematics and Statistics and to choose one of the options below:

Note: ADVANCED PLACEMENT TEST (APT) Students who have not achieved 40 or more in Specialist Maths but who for some reason are very keen to enter 620-157 (e.g. a desire to pursue Actuarial Studies, for which 620-157 and 620-158 are required) may possibly be allowed to do 620-157 and 620-158.
